The model of the race is compulsory for kennel organisations of particular countries
and it describes a perfect cocker spaniel. A set of perfect physical and psychical features for
a given race is created by a perfect model and it is used for assessment of gods on shows.

GENERAL IMPRESSIONS
A happy and resilient dog for hunting, harmonious-built, compact – the length
of torso from glomus to the root of the tail is similar to the height in a glomus.
CHARACTERISTICS
A dog with a friendly attitude and lively tail, able to persistent work in a dense woods.
TEMPERAMENT
Gentle, friendly and in the same time lively and effusive.
HEAD AND SKULL
Angular muzzle. The length of the muzzle equal to cranium’s length.
Strong, dry cranium not very heavy and delicate. Cheeks slightly marked.
Big nose, wide nostrils which provide great smell.
EYES
Big, never goggle. Dark brown or brown when dogs are chocolate,
chocolate with screening or chocolate-white with dark nut-brown colour harmonized with the colour.
EARS
Big, hanging, placed low on the level of an eye.
An ear so long as the skin could reach the top of the nose with profuse long, straight, silky hair.
DENTITION
Strong clash, shearer occlusion and regular placement.
NECK
Middle length, muscle-bound, firmly placed on a diagonally settled shoulder blades, dry.
FORELEGS
Long shoulder blade, set diagonally, straight legs with a strong skeleton,
muscle-bound and not very long. Too short legs shorten steps which should be long concerning hunting dogs.

TORSO
Short, tight. Torso well-build, deep. The front not very wide and not too narrow, ribs well arched.
Wide and short loins, strong spine, on loins in slightly falls towards the tail.

HIND LEGS
Wide rump, round, muscle-bound , legs with strong skeleton, well angulared, short metatarsus.


PAWS
Feline, tight with strong pads.
TAIL
Settled below the level of spine, active, never above the level of the spine.
Traditionally it is cut not too short and not too long in order not to change its typical action (not practised anymore).
MOVEMENT
Free with a long, spatial step.
VESTMENT
Close-fitting, silky, not very plentiful, it cannot be rough, curvy or curly, plentiful feathers on
a torso and forelegs and also on hind legs above the level of tarsal joint.
COLOUR
Various. Dogs with one colour there can be only one white spot on a torso.
DIMENSIONS
Height (average) 39-41 cm - dog, 38-39cm - bitch,
Weight (average) 12-14,5kg.
VICES
Any aberration form the description should be considered as a vice which should be judged according to its intensification.
ATTENTION
Male dogs must have two normally developed testicles in a scrotum.
